Why PLINTH doesn't collect rent

Most property tools — Yardi, Buildium, AppFolio, DoorLoop and the rest — want to sit between you and your tenant's money. That sounds convenient until you try to leave. Once payments, deposits, ledgers and payout accounts live inside their platform, switching tools means untangling your entire cash flow. That's not software — that's a leash.

We think you should own your rails. Keep collecting rent however you already do — Zelle, ACH, Venmo, check, your bank, or whatever service you actually trust. PLINTH tracks it, reconciles it, and shows you the numbers, without ever touching a dollar.

Lock-in risk

When your payment history and tenant ACH mandates live inside another tool, leaving means starting over — new authorizations, new payout accounts, new tenant confusion.

Payout delays & fees

Third-party rent processors hold funds 3–7 days, take a slice off the top, and can freeze payouts during a dispute. Your own bank does none of that.

You inherit their outages

When a payments platform has a bad week — chargebacks, compliance freezes, downtime — rent stops moving. That's your income, stuck on someone else's dashboard.

A plinth, not a cage

A plinth is the base a statue stands on. That's the job we picked: be the solid foundation under your rental business so you can build whatever you want on top — your own bank, your own accountant, your own contractors, your own workflow. Simple. Portable. Yours.

Predictable cost, not cheap software

PLINTH is less expensive because we deliberately do less expensive things. We don't touch rent payments, so we don't need the infrastructure, compliance, or fees that come with moving money. We don't sell ads or upsell screening services. We charge one flat monthly price for the operating foundation a small landlord actually needs.

That predictability is the point: your software bill shouldn't balloon just because you signed another tenant or raised the rent. With PLINTH, the cost is known, the value is clear, and your cash flow stays yours.

Our Story

PLINTH was born from the simple idea that managing a rental portfolio shouldn't require a dozen spreadsheets, sticky notes, and calendar reminders scattered across apps. We noticed that small landlords and real estate investors struggle with organization not because they lack ambition, but because they lack the right tools to track properties, leases, and critical dates in one place.

Today, we help property owners make informed decisions, stay on top of renewals, and build more profitable portfolios. Our platform continues to evolve based on user feedback and the changing needs of modern real estate investors.
